Members of the Bloomington Alpha chapter have their very own Stephanie Oyler serving at the state level as Province III officer.
A member since 2002, Stephanie has served the Alpha chapter as corresponding secretary, vice president and president. During her two-year presidential term, she suffered from breast cancer, missing only three meetings during her radiation treatment.
The Boonville native has a special interest in Tri Kappa’s roots.
“I love the history of Tri Kappa and being a part of that history,” Stephanie says. “By keeping the Tri Kappa story going, we respect that history.”
The Indiana State University graduate was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority in college, so she knew what to expect when her friend, Karin Reece invited Stephanie to join Tri Kappa.
“I like serving the community,” Stephanie says. “I wanted to meet people.”
Her favorite fundraiser is the annual Flower Sale.
Stephanie and her husband, Mark, have three children, Sam, Meg and Jed. She coaches gymnastics a few hours a week at the Bloomington United Gymnastics School and volunteers for Chrysalis, a spiritual retreat for young women. She attends Sherwood Oaks Christian Church.
As for her future in Tri Kappa, Stephanie would like to take her service to an even higher level, possibly volunteering on a state committee when her term as province officer is completed.
