Lisa Richardson

Lola + Company, Lisa Orme Richardson’s downtown boutique, keeps her busy 24-7, but she looks forward to slipping away occasionally to spend time with her Tri Kappa sisters.

“I love the girls, of course … I love the Tri Kappa sisterhood the best,” Lisa says. “I’ve never been in a group of gals before -- I’m kind of a loner -- so I push myself to do things with other women.

“But I also love the philanthropic part -- that’s why I joined!”

Lisa was born in Bloomington, but her dad moved around a lot working with the grocery industry. She was graduated from Center Grove High School before her family moved back to Btown in 1984.

She attended Indiana University for one year before summer interning with Ford Motor Credit in Indianapolis. Lisa didn’t return to school for over 15 years.

“I got my IU degree when I was 35,” Lisa laughs. “I decided to go back when I was staying home with my two kids. I finished an online IUPUI bridge program in general studies in two years.”

Lisa met her first husband, Toby, in high school. They have two children, Toby and Rachel. After her husband’s death, Lisa met her second husband, Jon Richardson, through a church friend.

“I had so many friends in Tri Kappa,” Lisa says, “but for so many years, I just couldn’t join, time-wise. In 2019, I reached out to my friend Stephanie Oyler. I told her I was looking for some sort of volunteer work now that the kids were out of school. I needed to get involved in something else in the community.”

Stephanie suggested Tri Kappa. It has been a good fit.

“I love Blingo! I love flower day!” Lisa says. “On flower day, I end up going home with more flowers than I could ever possibly need!”
