Jillian Prall
Jillian Rivera Prall has found a second calling volunteering at My Sister’s Closet.
“I focus on formal and bridal,” Jillian says. “I help to style and plan out the fashion shows. I take bridal appointments to meet with the brides and help them find their gowns. When it’s formal season, I will be there three days a week!”
Jillian says she always has been passionate about fashion and lowering the barrier to fine clothing.
“My goal is to give the women a very dignified and magical experience,” she says.
Born in Munster but raised in Valparaiso with one older sister, Jillian attended St. Mary’s in Notre Dame her freshman year of college before transferring to Indiana University in the fall of 2002 to study sociology.
A job opportunity at Kilroy’s offered Jillian both a career path and a cute new boyfriend, David Prall.
Because David’s family owned Kilroy’s, Jillian went to work there full-time after their marriage. She oversaw the corporation’s business plan and bar-tended one day a week until the family sold the establishment in 2015.
After a short stint in residential real estate, Jillian decided to retire and focus on her growing children, Truly and Holden.
She was glad to join Tri Kappa in 2019 to give back to her community. The Bloomington chapter also gives Jillian the bonus of making new friends.
“I definitely love the sisterhood,” Jillian says. “It so nice having a great group of women to serve the community with -- that’s something I really thrive on.
“Everybody’s been so welcoming and nice.”
Jillian says she loves Tri Kappa flowers, both selling them and buying them for her home.
“My favorite things in the whole wide world are Tri Kappa flowers,” Jillian laughs. “They are the most amazing flowers!”
Jillian has always been active in the Bloomington philanthropic community. She served on both the Boys and Girls Club Auxiliary and as president of the Child’s Elementary School PTO.
But there’s something about Tri Kappa that has really captured Jillian’s heart.
“I know this might sound silly, but I really enjoy just going to our meetings,” she says. “I love having that social time and getting to know the women.”
